Quick and Yummy Camp Stew

Great with bread and salad or fruit and rolls, this recipe feeds 6-10 hungry campers. You may wish to substitute canned meat for the hamburger if refrigeration is scarce.  For a richer, fresher taste, add a teaspoon of dried oregano or 2 bay leaves.


  • 3 lbs. ground beef
  • 2 large cans of potatoes         
  • 1 T. beef bouillon granules
  • 3 large cans of vegetables (any type)
  • 3 cans cream of mushroom soup    


Brown ground beef in large pot; pour off as much fat as possible. Drain liquid from both cans of potatoes and one can of vegetables. Add bouillon, vegetables, mushroom soup, and potatoes to browned meat. Stir thoroughly. Cook until heated through. Serve hot.
