Quilt Block Pattern

Pot of Flowers
Bonus Pattern

12" Finished Block
Intermediate Level

CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS
Refer to template diagrams (click on links on page 2) for fabric identification and cutting instructions for flowers, leaves, and flower pot.

Background ... cut one square 14"x14" (Square block to 12 1/2" x 12 1/2" after pot and flowers have been appliquéd.)

Pot of Flowers Quilt Block

Step 1. Assemble "Placement Guide" drawing. Trace drawing onto a sheet of tracing paper and use as a "Placement Guide" when placing pieces to be appliquéd on background square.

Assemble Drawing

Step 2. Make bias strips for stems. (Refer to Placement Guide for length of stem.) Fold green fabric 1 3/4" x length of stem bias strip in half, wrong sides together. Stitch 1/4" from raw edge. Trim seam allowance to 1/8". Press tube flat, centering seam allowance on back so raw edge isn't visible from front. (Using 5/8" bias bar makes pressing faster and easier.)

Step 3. Fold 14" background square as shown in Diagram 1. Finger press folds to form guidelines.
