I live in a small village, Volcan, Panama, and teach quilting to the women here. We have four gringa volunteers and about 200 students in the last three years. It is a full time job that I love and do because it is wonderful to see women change, grow and work together to accomplish goals they set. I need a long-arm quilting machine on a table and that is my next goal. I have the first long-arm quilter in Panama, a HandiQuilter Sweet 16, which more than 10 women have mastered and are quilting large quilts for income. It is a dream come true. If you come to Panama, get in touch, volcanquilters@gmail.com.
