I started quilting in 2000 in a small quilting group. The leader of the class taught us to applique. I started on a Baltimore Album as my first quilt which took 2 yrs 3 mos for me to make. I entered it into the Florida State Fair at the urging of my fellow quilters and won First Place and also Best of
Show. Ever since then I have fallen in love with applique quilting. I am interested in learning how to do piece work and as soon as I am finished with the Baltimore Album bridal quilt I am making for our son and his fiancee, I will attempt to learn. We moved away from our home where the quilters group met and now I quilt alone. I tried one guild but no one spoke to me and I quilted alone again. So much for that! But I am still quilting but wish I had some quilting buddies. |
