CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS
1/4" seam allowance included in measurements
Background ... Color #1
... 1A - cut four 2" squares
... 1B - cut twelve 2" x 3 1/2" rectangles

Green ... Color #2
... 2A - cut sixteen 2" squares
... 2B - cut four 2" x 3 1/2" rectangles
... 2C - cut four 2 3/8" squares

Yellow ... Color #4
... 4A - cut four 2" squares
... 4C - cut four 2 3/8" squares

Purple ... Color #5
... 5A - Cut eight 2" squares

Pink ... Color #3
... 3A - cut twelve 2" squares
... 3B - cut four 2" x 3 1/2" rectangles
... 3D - cut one 3 1/2" square

Flying Geese Sub Unit

Draw diagonal line (wrong side of fabric) on squares. Layer square and rectangle. Sew directly on top of drawn line.Cut away excess fabric 1/4" from seamline. Press seam allowance. Repeat for other end of rectangle.

Half-Flying Geese Sub Unit

Draw diagonal line (wrong side of fabric) on square. Layer square and rectangle. Sew directly on top of drawn line.Cut away excess fabric 1/4" from seamline. Press seam allowance. Make four sub units with the square sewn on the right hand side of the rectangle and four with the square sewn on the left.

Four Patch Sub Unit

On wrong side of lightest fabric, draw diagonal line with the marking tool of your choice. Layer 2C and 4C, right side to right side. Sew 1/4" seam on each side of marked line; cut apart on marked line. Press triangles open to make pieced squares. Assemble Four Patch sub units referring to diagram for placement guide.
