Cutting Instructions
Blue print
... 6 squares 2 7/8"
... 6 squares 2 7/8", cut in half diagonally to make 12 half-square triangles

White print
... 6 squares 2 7/8"
... 2 squares 6 7/8", cut in half diagonally to make 4 half-square triangles

Assembly Instructions
Step 1. On wrong side of 2 7/8" white print square, draw diagonal line with marking tool of your choice. Layer square with 2 7/8" blue print square, right sides together. Sew 1/4" seam on each side of marked line; cut apart on marked line. Press open to make pieced squares (Diagram I). Make 12 pieced-squares.

Step 2. Arrange and stitch 3 rows using 3 pieced squares and 3 blue print 2 7/8" half-square triangles (Diagram II). Sew rows together. Stitched pieced triangle to ivory 6 7/8" half-square triangle. Make 4 pieced squares.

Step 3. Sew 4 pieced squares together, rotating as shown, to make Pinwheel Block (Diagram III).

Amount of material

I really like you magazine, I just renewed my subscription. I like the idea of giving the pattern for the blocks above , but it does not give the amount of material that you need for the size of quilt you would like to make

loved this block

This is my first quilt made from quilt blocks instead of quilt pattern. I used 5 different blues and 5 different cream colors that were very close in tone and design. Used darker blue polka dot backing fabric and sashing. It is not beginner level..alittle harder than that!
