Green print ... fat quarter
... 4 Template A
... 4 Template B
... 4 Template C
... 4 Template E
... 1 Template F

Cream ... fat quarter
... 1 16 1/2" x 16 1/2" square (oversized)

Gold print ... 10" x 10" square
... 4 Template D

Step 1. Finger-press cream 16 1/2" square in half diagonally in both directions; use folds as placement guide.

Step 2. Referring to Diagram I, position template fabrics A-F (in alphabetical order) on cream square. Using appliqué method of choice, appliqué in place to complete Pineapple Block. Trim cream square to 15 1/2" x 15 1/2" (unfinished).

Pineapple motif - international symbol of hospitality
This is a lovely motif and would even be perfect as a wall-hanging on its own. Historically, the wives of sea captains would display some form of pineapple outside the home to indicate that her 'captain' was now at home from the sea.
