Cutting Instructions:

Cream ... Color #1
1A - Cut one 5 7/8" square. Cut in half diagonally to make 2 half- square triangles. One trianlge will be used in each block.
*1B - Cut two 3 3/8" squares
1C - Cut two 3" x 5 1/2" rectangles
1D - Cut one 3" square

Pink ... Color #3
3B - Cut two 3 3/8" squares
3D - Cut one 3" square

Purple ... Color #2
*2B - Cut one 3 3/8" square

Medium Green ... Color #4
4B - Cut one 3 3/8" square

Dark Green ... Color #5
5A - Cut one 5 7/8" square, cut in half diagonally to make 2 half-square triangles. One triangle will be used in each block.

Preparation

Layer two 3 3/8" fabric squares right side to right side. On wrong side of lightest fabric, draw diagonal line. Sew 1/4" seam on each side of marked line; cut apart on marked line. Press open to make pieced squares (Diagram I). Make i4 sub unit a and 2 sub unit b.

Assembling the Block

Sew together triangles 1A and 5A to make sub unit c. Join sub units and fabric pieces as indicated in Step 1 below to create 4 pieced squares. Sew 2 rows of 2 pieced squares each. Sew rows together to make Flower Basket Block.
