Cutting Instructions
White ... Color #1
... 1A - Cut 4 squares 2 1/2"
... 1B - Cut 2 squares 2 7/8"
... 1C - cut 4 rectangles 6 1/2" x 2 1/2"
Red ... Color #2
... 2A - Cut 13 squares 2 1/2"
... 2B - Cut 2 squares 2 7/8"
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1. On wrong side of white 2 7/8" square, draw diagonal line. Sew 1/4" seam on each side of marked line; cut apart on marked line. Press open to make pieced squares (Diagram I). Make 4.

Step 2. On wrong side of red 2 1/2" square, draw diagonal line. Sew directly on marked line; cut off excess fabric. Press seam allowance toward triangle. Repeat for the other side of the trapezoid (Diagram II). Make 4.

Step 3. Sew together 5 red and 4 white 2 1/2" squares to make nine-patch (Diagram III). Make 1.

Diagram III
Step 4. Stitch together 4 pieced squares, 4 trapezoids, and nine-patch to make Fool's Square Block (Assembly Diagram).
