... 1E/ER - cut 1 each using template (see drafting template diagram)
... 1D - cut 1/1R half trapezoids 2 1/2" x 5 7/8" (see cutting diagram)

... 2D - cut 1/1R half trapezoids 2 1/2" x 5 7/8" (see cutting diagram)
... 2 F - cut 1 using template (see drafting template diagram)

Medium Violet ... Color #3
... 3A - Cut 3 squares 3 1/2" (see quick piecing diagram)Purple ... Color #4
... 4B - Cut 12 squares 2" (see quick piecing diagram)

Light Violet ... Color #5
... 5C - Cut 2 trapezoids 2 1/2" x 8 1/4" (see cutting diagram)
... 5D - Cut 1/1R half trapezoids 2 1/2" x 5 7/8" (see cutting diagram)

CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1. Layer rectangles wrong side to wrong side when cutting mirror imaged half trapezoids (Cutting Diagram I).

Step 2. Cut both ends of piece C at a 45 degree angle to make Trapezoids (Cutting Diagram II)

Step 3. Using one inch cross grid paper, draft shapes (E&F) as shown in diagrams. Mark match points and add 1/4" on all sides for seam allowance. Make plastic template.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

Step 4. Draw diagonal line (wrong side of fabric) on small squares. Referring to Diagram I, layer small squares on corners of large square and sew directly on top of drawn line. Cut away excess fabric and press seam allowance according to arrows.

Step 5. Sew together pieces as shown in Diagram II, backstitching at match points. Align match points and sew from edge to edge

Step 6. Sew 2 rows of 2 blocks each (Diagram III).

Step 7. Sew rows together (Block Assembly Diagram).

TRADITIONAL SETTING

The following is a suggested setting for the Friendship Bouquet Block.

Blocks are rotated and set "on point" to form design. Rows are assembled diagonally with the addition of setting triangles (Quilt Assembly Diagram).

This block will be interesting to work with as I figure the color theme. I will enjoying working this one.

I love the pattern, colors and even the title. I will use this to take me from being a beginner to intermediate quilter. I will be making this for my longtime childhood friend for sure.
