Background fabric
   1 each Templates A and A reversed (Ar)
   2 rectangles 1¾˝ x 2˝
   1 rectangle 1½˝ x 2˝
Chimney fabric
   2 rectangles 1¼˝ x 2˝
House front fabric
   1 rectangle 1½˝ x 3˝
   2 strips 1 3/8˝ x 4˝
   2 rectangles 1 3/8˝ x 2˝
   1 Template B
Roof fabric
   1 Template C
House side fabric
   2 strips 1 3/8˝ x 6½˝
   2 rectangles 1¼˝ x 2˝
Door fabric
   1 strip 1¼˝ x 4˝
Window fabric
   1 strip 1¼˝ x 3½˝
   1 rectangle 1¼˝ x 2˝

Piecing the Block

1. Referring to Diagram I, sew together 2 background fabric 1¾˝ x 2˝ rectangles, 2 chimney fabric 1¼˝ x 2˝ rectangles, and background fabric 1½˝ x 2˝ rectangle to make chimney row.                                          



2. Referring to Diagram II and aligning match points, sew together A and Ar, B, and C to make roof row.



3. Using house front fabric strips and rectangles, window fabric 1¼˝ x 2˝ rectangle and door fabric 1¼˝ x 4˝ strip, make house front (Diagram III -A). Using house side fabric strips and rectangles and window fabric 1¼˝ x 3½˝ strip, make house side (Diagram III-B).



4. Referring to Diagram IV , stitch together house front and side, then add chimney row and roof row to make House Block.
