Cutting Instructions
(cut in order listed)

Tan solid
   2 strips 1½˝ x 3½˝
   2 squares 1½˝ x 1½˝
Dark brown solid
   1 square 1½˝ x 1½˝
Orange solid
   2 strips 2˝ x 6½˝
   2 rectangles 2˝ x 3½˝
Light green solid
   2 strips 2½˝ x 10½˝
   2 strips 2½˝ x 6½˝
Medium green solid
   2 strips 3˝ x 15½˝
   2 strips 3˝ x 10½˝
Medium brown solid
   2 strips 3½˝ x 21½˝
   2 strips 3½˝ x 15½˝

Piecing the Block

1. Sew tan 1½˝ squares to dark brown 1½˝ square (Diagram I). Sew tan 1½˝ x 3½˝ strips to top and bottom. Stitch orange 2˝ x 3½˝ rectangles to sides; stitch orange 2˝ x 6½˝ strips to top/bottom. Sew light green 2½˝ x 6½˝ strips to sides; sew light green 2½˝ x 10½˝ strips to top/bottom. Stitch medium green 3˝ x 10½˝ strips to sides; stitch medium green 3˝ x 15½˝ strips to top/bottom. Sew medium brown 3½˝ x 15½˝ strips to sides; sew medium brown 3½˝ x 21½˝ strips to top/bottom to complete Big Squares Block.
