Fanfare pattern problem
Thanks; I've already checked the pattern size, and am confident of the 1/4 inch seam allowance, but I'll try the spray sizing to keep the material from stretching. Also, while trying to "make it fit" yesterday, I go it close, but had to stretch the fan about an inch higher on one side of the material than the pattern stated. It looked ok to me, so I'm thinking about going ahead, but I'll try the ironing and sizing to see if that doesn't fix the problem. Thanks so much for the suggestion!

I suggest the following tips: Confirm that your template A was traced accurately, and that a precise 1/4" seam allowance was added; before tracing your template onto the fabric, press the fabric using spray sizing to help stabilize the fabric; handle the slightly-bias long edges carefully to avoid stretching them; double-check your 1/4" seam allowance accuracy with help from our free video lesson at http://www.mccallsquilting.com/Videos/Q101. I hope these tips help!
Trouble with "Fanfare" pattern from Sept/Oct 08
I'm having troubles fitting the "fan" onto the background square. The sides aren't matching up and it appears that the angle of the individual fans is a bit off. Has anyone else encountered this problem and what should I do (besides attempting to "recut" the fan template). The bottom of the fan is gaping about 1/2 inch
