Response to Koopcheckd
Please be assured that the pattern measurements and instructions are accurate. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd border strips allow extra length for trimming, as noted in the Cutting Instructions. The extra length is necessary due to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd borders being mitered; please refer to step 5. As noted in the Planning section, an accurate 1/4" seam is important throughout so that all elements fit together well.
Assembly diagram in Magazine (pg 25) is incorrect
The diagram notes that the first border that attaches to the main design is 1" x 48" when we are told to cut the main design to the length of 40 1/2" so that first border won't fit and will need to be trimmed. Additionally the width measurements are off for the first border as the overall measurements should be 38, and not 48 as stated in the diagram. This will change. The over all measumnts for all the subsequent borders. Please make a note of it.
