How long I've been quilting... About 18 years.

I began quilting because... I started quilting when I was in graduate school getting a degree in software engineering. I had a full-time job as a programmer and I wanted something to do that didn’t involve a computer!

My quilting style is... Sometimes contemporary, sometimes modern, mostly eclectic!

Other quilt design contests I've entered... Modern Quilt Guild Quarterly Challenge 2011.

I draw my inspiration from... I never know what is going to inspire me! It may be a piece of artwork, an architectural detail, a doodle, a memory, a traditional quilt. I keep a sketchbook with me most of the time. Most of my quilts start as tiny little sketches.

My Favorite techniques... Hand appliqué, when I have the time. I love to make quilts that require some problem solving in order to complete them.

My fabric stash... I would describe my stash as ‘in need of editing’! It’s fairly balanced as far as colors go and a wide variety of styles.

My quilting community... I belong to three guilds: a traditional guild (Blue Valley Quilters Guild); a modern guild (Kansas City Modern Quilt Guild); a long-arm guild (Mo-Kan Quilt Guild).

I entered Quilt Design Star™ 2012 because... My sister told me to!

What you should know about me… I live in Overland Park, Kansas with my husband, three children (16, 14, and 10) and a dog.
