How long I've been quilting... I’ve been quilting for four years now, my husband bought me a Brother 950D for Christmas in 2007, and the first thing I did was make a quilt for my cousin.

I began quilting because... I have always loved quilts. I first fell in love with them at a Bible Camp I went to as a kid. They were so warm and cosy.

My quilting style is... I am in love with appliqué quilting and designing quilts around pictures and things. I don’t usually piece blocks, I more “paint pictures with fabric”

Other quilt design contests I've entered... I entered Quilting Arts ‘Very Petty’ calendar contest in 2011, and also entered Canadian Living’s Great Canadian Sewing Machine giveaway.

People who inspired me... I am inspired by all kinds of people!

I draw my inspiration from... I was born with a big imagination and it seems to have stuck with me. It has it’s good and bad…but things just pop in there from everywhere, and I often make quilts from what I see.

My Favorite techniques... Definitely applique, thread painting, freehand embroidery.

Colors or fabrics I'm attracted to... My favourite colours seem to change with the seasons. I do seem to like a lot of greens in most cases though.

My fabric stash... Mostly cotton, small prints and solids. I have a fairly good stash, and love collecting fat quarters.

My quilting community... I have a small facebook group I am part of and I also frequent QuiltingBoard.com

My other hobbies and interests... I am a gardener, love flowers and grow a vegetable garden and fruit trees. I also keep chickens for eggs. We boat a lot in the summer and spend most of the summer on the lake.

I entered Quilt Design Star™ 2012 because... I entered Quilt design Star™ to challenge myself, and to hopefully get one of my quilts published in McCall's Quilting magazine.
