Flower Beds becomes cancer support
I was looking for a easy to piece quilt for my daughter who has leukemia. Instead of green I used purple batik for the background. I picked fabric for each block that represents people who love and support her. I called the quilt Surrounded By Love. I added a few cancer support fabrics and batiks with orange (the support color for ALL). My 9 year old granddaughter helped me cut the strips and lay out the quilt. We finished it it 4 days. It being quilted now. I can't wait to present it to my daughter. One idea I want to share is I made a list of those represented in the quilt and have it for her to see if she can match the fabric to the person. I then made a key that explains what fabric is for who and why I choose it.
Online baby quilt pattern
This full-size pattern was so striking with the continuity of the green as background. Wasn't so impressed with the busyness of the baby quilt, so adjusted it to 6"blocks, pieced from 3 1/2" and 2" strips. Liked it better YEAH FOR QUICKER PIECING!!
