The 9 1/2" quarter square triangles are intentionally cut oversize, and you'll trim the excess for a nice squared-up block - illustrations show finished block.

I ordered the kit and have started the piecing. I'm working on the flying geese block. The directions say to join together a flying geese segment and two of the 9 1/2" quarter square triangles to make a row. The triangles are a full half inch larger than the flying geese segment. The diagram in the directions shows them they same size. Did I do something wrong? Are they supposed to be the same size?
