Original Sewing & Quilt EXPO is heading to the DoubleTree Bloomington in Minneapolis, MN, Nov. 10, 11 and 12, 2016 for three jam-packed days of quilting and sewing fun. There’s an endless number of things at the EXPO to see, create and do — from the Expo Stage to the quilts in the Gallery to shopping and more. Here’s a list of things you shouldn’t miss:
Experience sewing retail therapy like never before at the EXPO. Inside the Exhibit Hall, you’ll be surrounded by an incredible selection of machines, tools, fabrics, notions and patterns. From international sewing machine companies to treasured local fabric shops, there will be dozens of booths to explore.
There’s a whole world of creativity waiting to be discovered inside the EXPO classrooms. Join popular instructors like Sharon Schamber, Diane Tomlinson, Katie Bartz, Cyndi Souder, Kathy Lincoln, Linda Lee, Kathy McMakin and more for hands-on workshops. It’s a rare opportunity to have the chance to learn from and work alongside so many talented personalities at once.
From new quilting techniques to insider sewing secrets, there’s always something exciting happening on the EXPO Stage. Check out Diane Tomlinson’s “Who Doesn’t Love a Scrap Quilt” trunk show… or be in the front row for the BurdaStyle Runway Fashion Show. All of the 30-minute presentations, demonstrations and trunk shows are all FREE with your general admission EXPO ticket … and are full of inspiration and how-to advice.
The latest exhibits from quilters around the country will be in the EXPO’s Display Gallery, and they are outstanding. Let your mind wander as your feet take you past traditional quilts, modern quilts, art quilts and more. Some highlights include a special exhibit from QuiltCon 2016 and a “Black and White Plus One Challenge” exhibit from the Madison Quilt Expo from Wisconsin Public Television with Nancy Zieman. Special Quilt Walks, presented by the designers themselves, will even be available for some exhibits!
