Patriotic Quilts PLUS

McCall’s Quick Quilts has published many patriotic quilt patterns, and here is our newest red, white, and blue beauty:

All American Rose flat 600px Patriotic Quilts PLUS

All American Rose, designed by Maria Umhey

All American Rose is patterned in the June/July 2014 issue of McCall’s Quick Quilts, and features fabrics from the American Beauty collection by Beth Logan for Henry Glass & Co.. We love the sense of movement that the prints give to the simple, fast piecing.

A few kits for this quilt are still available in our online store. Even better, from May 9-16, 10% of all sales in our shop will be donated to the Quilts of Valor Foundation, an organization benefiting US service men and women. If you’ve been thinking about making a patriotic quilt, here’s your chance to also make a difference for these brave men and women. QOV Patriotic Quilts PLUSThere are hundreds of quilt kits, not to mention videos, books, DVDs, notions, and everything else a quilter could need, available for sale in our shop. Come on by, find yourself a treat or two, and help the QOV Foundation. America thanks you, and so do we!

The Covering America quilt looks challenging. Is that something you would recommend for a beginner? I’m wondering if the pattern tells you which block is for which state, also.

Penny, I would not recommend Covering America for a quilting beginner, unless you take it on as a long-term project and work on easy blocks first, working your way up to the most challenging. The pattern definitely tells you which block is for which state. -Kathy Patterson-
