We’re excited to announce that episode 8 of our Accent on Amish Quilt Along is now live! This is the eighth of our nine-lesson series, which takes you step-by-step through the entire quiltmaking process, from cutting the fabric to the last binding stitch. In lesson 8 of the series, Sherri Bain Driver and Erin Russek show you how to prepare your quilt for a successful and beautiful binding. The binding step in creating a quilt is just as important as all of the steps leading up to it. This lesson’s discussion includes:
- Joining the binding strips together with diagonal seams using chain piecing,
- Trimming and pressing the seams
- Pressing the completed long binding strip
- Trimming the quilt sandwich edges and corners to prepare it for applying the binding
