Treat yourself to the adventure of a lifetime with this 9-day deluxe safari expedition, personally escorted by McCall’s Quilting editor-in-chief Beth Hayes and Sew Many Places’ Jim West.
We’ll see Kenya through a quilter’s eyes, marveling at the natural beauty, local art, extraordinary wildlife, and African textiles. On this trip, we’ll stay 3 nights at the world-renowned Nairobi Serena Hotel, 2 nights in the exotic and luxurious tents of the Sweetwaters Sanctuary, and 2 nights in the Samburu Game Reserve first class lodge where we’ll embark on a game drive and visit a Samburu village.
We’ll visit the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and Nairobi Giraffe Center, tour the Karen Blixen Museum and Kazuri Bead factory, visit with the Kenya Quilt Guild and Nanyuki Spinners and Weavers, and tour the picturesque city of Nairobi (including its wonderful textile market!). This 9-day African adventure includes:

The total price for this trip is $6,342.00. You can also opt-in to extending your expedition to the Masai Mara for an additional three days (November 22-24, 2014), with 2 nights at the first-class Keekorok Lodge where you’ll partake in game drives across the Masai plains and a hot-air balloon safari with a champagne breakfast. This optional, three-day extension is $1,623.00.
