I usually blog on Thursdays, but I’m so excited that I just can’t help myself. I gave Dorothy her quilt!
Dorothy was just getting home while we were walking over to her house. She could hardly wait to get out of the car, “John, is that Tracee?” I could hear her even though she was in the car. (John is her son-in-law) She almost fell out of the car, then dropped her oranges, and then got caught up in the seat belt.
“Are you coming over to show me that quilt?” she asks, all giddy like a kid.
“Actually Dorothy, this is your quilt. I’m coming over to give it to you.”
“Oh my heavens, really?”
We go inside and she unfolds it and it turns out she loves purple too!
On the Little Tee front, quilting is done and binding is sewn on and I’m currently hand stitching it at night while my husband and I catch up on White Collar, our new favorite TV show.
I worked an extra hour every day last week to be able to longarm quilt it Friday afternoon while Sherri was there. Think I’m going to go out today and pick up some walkie talkies, as the longarm machine is on the opposite end of where we work. “Over and out Share Bear, what did you just tell me 5 seconds ago?” So much quicker than running down the hallway, SHOOT SHERRI, what did I do wrong!?
Sherri is an AMAZING quilter and beautiful person. Funny too! I always say, I want to be just like here when I grow up. She suggested the waves on this quilt, to compliment the horizontal pattern, I love it.
Here’s the back.
When I first starting quilting this quilt, Karen was in the studio with me watching. Something seemed WAY wrong, so I went underneath the longarm and saw this. “CRIME.” I said. Karen in her sweet calming voice said, “Do I need to go get Sherri? I’m gonna go get Sherri.” The tension was wrong. SO many things to remember.
Quilt #3 top is done and I will be quilting it on my own machine this week. I’ll blog about it next week. Thanks for all the comments and support, it’s an energy charge knowing I have so many people supporting me in the adventure!
Again if you want daily updates feel free to come over to my personal blog…
