I spent over 8 hours quilting last Friday, but it was worth it to see this result!
When I had finished sewing my blocks together with the sashing pieces, it was time to cut my border fabric:
After sewing those pieces to each side, I started preparing my binding fabric so it’s ready as soon as I’m finished quilting.
My last step to prepare for quilting was cutting, sewing, and pressing my backing fabric. I hit a snag here when I ran out of bobbin thread without knowing it just before I started sewing my pieces together. This resulted in a very huffy quilter for awhile.
After sewing my blocks, borders, and sashing together, here it is – my finished quilt top!
This weekend I’ll be using our Handi Quilter longarm machine to finish my quilting. I’m nervous to try it, but I have some great teachers to help me along!
