Placemat number two has the dark plum color out on the edges, framing the inside interest. This one has quite a bit of quilting. I discovered machine quilting is fun when you “wing it.”

Each mat is going to be a new design in some way, but all will employ the common palette of colors. It’s allowing me to experiment with appliqué and design techniques I’ve been wanting to try. (Is this giving anyone new ideas I wonder?)
