One of the perks of working at McCalls Quilting is seeing the constant stream of new fabrics being created in the world as we speak. Check out these fabric samples by designers Amy Butler and Kaffe Fassett. Talk about joyful color!
June/July 2011 McCalls Quick Quilts contains the Blooms for the Soul quilt pattern by Susan Guzman with many of these same gorgeous Amy Butler prints. It’s an easy quilt even I could make! I heard the kits are selling fast, which is no surprise.
And designer/editor Kathy Patterson created the House that Kaffe Built quilt featuring his wonderful collection of bright prints. With that quilt hanging behind her desk, she has one of the most cheerful offices in the building. You can see this quilt right here on our website:

Watch for Jane Dixon’s Garden Party fabric coming out soon for Andover. Just spotted it outside Tricia’s office and I want some! It has peachy modern flowers with light greens, tan, white, gray, and pink. Adorable. Tricia says the fabrics we get show up in shops in a few weeks to a few months, so guess I’ll have to just keep shopping. Twist my arm!

Thank you..really informative!!
Thank you for the information. Looking forward to receive my copy in the mail.
Happy quilting.
I absolutely LOVE the Kaffe Fassett prints!! I think I have already bought almost all of those showing in this blogspot. LOVE LOVE LOVE them.
I appreciate the playfulness in his approach to pattern. Here’s a link to Kaffe speaking about how travel has inspired his designs, quite beautiful.

To demonstrate the fact that Kaffe Fassett quilt designs can be used for other things – not just quilts weve posted a photo from Catherine Corbishley Michel who visited our stand at the NEC last week. She kindly brought in a photo of her interpretation of the Hot Diamonds quilt using Kaffe Fassett and Martha Negley fabrics which is used as a curtain and definitely works in this format.
It’s very lovely as a curtain, thanks for sharing!
The fabrics are indeed beautiful. The colors are lovely and definitely very inspiring. Thank you so much for the great information!
You’re welcome! Don’t you feel that sometimes just looking at gorgeous fabric flips an inner switch and you just want to get busy and make something right away?
