A Quilter Moves In! Part 8

Thread rack 11 225x300 A Quilter Moves In! Part 8

Thread, beautiful thread!

I have been so busy with real life that my unpacking has been languishing and I’m getting grumpy without my fabric. Last night, however, I finally got back to work and found my thread racks. Yippee! I had this brilliant idea that I could move them and keep the spools in place if I wrapped the racks tightly in paper and taped around them. Well… it sort of worked. About 1/3 of them were still on their pins, but the rest are at the bottom of a very deep box that I haven’t completely emptied yet. Here they are, I’ve hung them from the end of my fabric cube unit and on the adjoining wall. Can you believe there’s one more rack to come?

Aren’t they beautiful!
Those pins will all be full when I get to the bottom of the box.

Don’t you worry about the dust on your thread? i have started to put all my threads in boxes now…

It’s like looking at a rainbow! No wonder you want them out where you can see them.

very pretty – we are thread poor so appreciate your wonderful collection

I haven’t been worrying about dust on my thread for a couple of reasons. First, I guess that I don’t know why dust would be a problem and second, the dust would only be on the outer layer of thread. I do worry about dry rot here in Colorado, but I LOVE looking at my threads, so I’m willing to take the risk. Other people have asked me about dust, too. Please share with me what concerns you about dust. I’m always open to learning new things and I’m really interested in this. Thanks, Laura
