A Quilter Moves In!, Part 7

Even unpacking quilters need to play!

Okay, the plan was to show you the incredible amount of unpacking I got done this weekend, but I’ve got something else to show you instead. I made this European pillow sham to make myself happy. It’s going to be a Web Bonus for our July issue of McCall’s Quick Quilts. The quilt that goes with it is about the sunniest quilt you’ve ever seen! So I made a summery sham to go with it.

Isn't it as bright as a summer garden? The fabrics are from an upcoming collection by Amy Butler at Westminster. It's called 'Soul Blossoms'.

When I finished the pillow I should have gotten to work, but instead I ended up working on my block design for Volume 3 of Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks. I’m so happy with it! It’s pink and green and yellow and looks like some sort of giant flower. I guess I’ve got summer on the brain. Which is a good thing since our high tomorrow is going to be below zero. You can imagine what the low’s going to be. So… I’m just summer-dreamin’! Happy Monday!

Love this, and I have just the right fabrics for it. Where can I buy the July issue in February? I can’t wait!

    Summertime, summertime, sum, sum, summertime!
It’s as hard to wait for summer as it is to wait for these gorgeous new fabrics!
