Our quilt guild "The Piecemakers Quilt Club of Hopkins County, KY" has sent monthly boxes to soldiers from our community for over 5 years averaging 4-5 boxes per month. We also have made many quilted Christmas stockings and stuffed them for the "Home of the Brave" national project. We made quilt blocks that are assembled into memorial quilts for families in Kentucky that their precious soldiers do not return. We need to support these brave young men & women any way we can!!!

Great to hear and see the support for our wonderful troops.

If you get the sewing bug, we have a special team of angels who sew Blankets of Hope for the wounded warriors (quilts and fleece), lap quilts for veterans, Blankets of Belief (for active duty soldiers to let them know we are thinking of them, and Baby Blankets and Clothes through Soldiers' Angels Operation Top Knot (for the new babies of military families --especially those who have daddy deployed while mommy is left behind in the states).

Of course, you can also adopt a soldier or join a letter writing team if making cards is your hobby. We also have Angel Bakers who mail monthly home-baked goodie boxes.

There are so many wonderful organizations out there. The joy you will receive from being involved will come back to you in so many ways. Cheers!

Such a great program! Another way to send a ‘gift’ to our troops oversees and at home during the holidays without having to spend money is to send a holiday card and free stress relieving download from a company called Prescription Audio http://www.prescriptionaudio.com/holiday-card.php
