TUSCAN TRAVELOGUE Quilters Style! |
|

From April 20–30, 2008, a very enthusiastic group of quilters toured Italy with author/teacher/historian Kaye England and McCall's Quilting editor-in-chief Beth Hayes. The art of Florence, scenery of Siena, and culture of Rome were breathtaking and inspiring, but nothing moved the group more than the wonders they discovered in the Tuscany region. To bring that inspiration home, Kaye and Beth challenged the group members to create one quilt block each, using a pattern drafted from a stone inlay found on the Tower of Pisa. Participants were encouraged to make their color and fabric choices based on the sights, smells, flavors, and feelings of their once-in-a-lifetime trip.We think you'll agree...their results are bellissima!
