Cutting Instructions
I've asked our art department to do a revised diagram showing the cutting instructions for this pattern. We will then post it on this page. Hopefully, we'll have it up by the middle of next week. Thanks for your patience! - Kathy
cutting instructions for Batik Illusion
I am a fairly experienced quilter, but I cannot for the life of me figure out the cutting instructions on this quilt. Nor can my fellow quilters in this area. Help
Cutting Illusion
While it appears that this quilt is made up of many stripes of fabric sewn together, it is actually a single piece of striped batik fabric, cut to appear as if the stripes are in a chevron pattern (hence the illusion). The fabric is an Elementals Artisan Batik by Lunn Studios for Robert Kaufman.

I have this issue of the magazine, but the instructions for cutting do not seem clear. Is there more? Do strips need to be sewn together to get the length needed? Help!
Re: Batik Illusion pattern
We understand how frustrating it can be when an issue is no longer available on newsstands. However, if you go to our Quilter's Village Shop, you can purchase the March/April 2009 issue, here (cut and past this address into your browser): http://www.quiltersvillage.com/store/products/MQ10309

Is there any way to access the cutting/assembly directions for the blue and brown quilt? I appreciate knowing that they are on pp. 18 & 20 of the March/April issue, but that issue is no longer available in stores and our local library doesn't carry McCall's Quilting. Is there a way to access this issue on-line?
