Graphic designer for McCall's Quilting, Karen Gillis Taylor divides her free time between studio painting and quiltmaking. She has been studying color in depth for several years. "Design and painting share the same color principles and richness of hues available. The way quilters blend color with fabric is endlessly fascinating!" Karen's favorite "escape" is a road trip to New Mexico, which she's been doing since 1985! She lives in Boulder County with husband Rob, dogs Hallie and Romeo, and Mimi the cat.
